Hi everyone,

My current build is very old using a Core 2 Duo at 2.2 Ghz, with 4 GB RAM at 1333 Mhz and a 9600 GSO 512. I mostly use my computer to surf the internet, listen to music and mostly MMO Gaming (Guild Wars 2 currently) as well as other games (Batman AA, Crysis, Diablo III and so on).

Budget is very low (between $250 to $400 at most) and have been looking into the A10-5800K APU option, but I was wondering if it would actually be any better than my current PC and want an honest opinion and/or suggestions from the forums.

This is the setup I'm working on:

AMD A10-5800K
ASRock FM2A75 Pro4-M
G.SKILL Ripjaws (2x4GB) DDR3 1866 Mhz

This is just to begin with, I'm looking into buying a new PSU (looking at the Corsair X430), Case (NZXT 210) and HDD (500 MB or 1 TB Seagate) in the long run and just use the current ones I have from my old build for the time being.

The first thing would be the PSU because the one I have is a replacement and is not 80 Plus Certified.

Anyone's thoughts would be gladly appreciated.

But is it better than what I currently have? I barely play anything above 720p or even at higher resolutions than 1440x900 which is what my monitor can handle.

i have a rig similar to yours...the intel equivelent...that 9600 gso isnt gonna serve you for very long. this is what id do...check your mobo and see what it can be upgraded to, check bios updates. add 4 more gb of ram. upgrade your gpu to at least a 7770. depending on the strength of your psu of course.

my opinion of course
