Just picked up a pair of these in nice shape at a garage sale for a couple
of bucks, they looked old and I was never familiar with any KLH speakers but
when I got home and pluged them in !!! I felt like I was back in the 70's
HI-FI era....these things can really pump!
Anyone here familiar with the KLH 5's and are there any improvements or
modifications that can be done to them?

Thanks...gil

I had a pair of them from about 1972 - 1982. The bass and midrange is quite
good, but the treble is not up to par with more modern speakers. I don't
know if the tweeter can be replaced easily.

They are superb neutral and balanced speakers...arguably the best
conventional acoustic suspension speaker built during that era. The
tweeters and related crossovers are know to be quite easy to blow. I am
dealing with a pair right now that my son has blown. Got a replacement pair
that work (off eBay) but now have to rip the entire thing apart to tackle
the crossover diagnosis and repair.

I bought a set of the KLH Model 5 suspension speakers for $5 bucks at a yard sale. Can ayone tell me what I need as far as amps to drive these speakers? :??: [/b][email]
