Yes, but u r not utilize full speed , atleast 4core processor need for 6xxx series gpus , and also I hate core2duo because its power saving processor so always slower then dual core processor (power saving processor is good for laptops but desktop its waste) .
I'm see a core2duo above 3.0 ghz slower then dual core processor (both in 41express chipset Intel mobo).

what are you on?? too much candy? core 2 duo was a high end cpu a few years ago, it is equivelant to an athlon x2 or phenom X2. nothing power saving about it, its a full power desktop cpu, not a laptop cpu. a core 2 duo processor is a "dual core" processor. You clearly have no idea.

just make sure your motherboard has the appropriate pcie expansion slot, and your power supply is the recommended wattage for the card. and you dont need a 4 core processor for 6xxx series gpu's, that is a lie.

Its a true man Ideal state is yes and no Oc.(I think u r not use any core2duo processor).
another point is dual core processor don't fully utilize 6xxx series Gpu atleast 4cores are wanted.
