Hi, I am assembling a PC and I want to know the best and the cheapest PSU that I can get for the below mentioned configuration:

1.AMD 3.6 GHz AM3+ FX4100 Processor
2.Gigabyte GA-78LMT-S2PT Motherboard
3.Corsair Vengeance DDR3 4 GB (1 x 4 GB) PC RAM (CMZ4GX3M1A1600C9)
4.Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 6670 1GB DDR5 Graphics Card
5.WD Caviar Green 1 TB Desktop Internal Hard Drive (WD10EZRX)

Also, how good is this machine for running games like Metro 2033, Crysis 2 etc?

Really looking forward to an informative response... :)

Almost all modern systems support dual channel RAM. To run in dual channel the RAM needs 2 matching sticks. In the real world you gain about a 5% increase in system performance over a single stick. If you can't afford an 8GB kit ( roughly ~$45 ) of 4GB x 2 then get a 4GB kit of 2GB x 2.

Either the Corsair 430CX or the Antec VP450 listed above would be great for your system. It's actually hard to find anything cheaper than those 2 that are still good quality.

Your listed system will play high end games like Metro 2033 and Crysis 2 only at low settings and resolutions. You would need a much better video card ( and processor honestly ) to turn up those games.

Don't use...
The corsair cx 430 is often $34 at Newegg

The Radeon 6670 is not a very powerful graphics card so it will only be able to play games at lower resolutions and detail settings .
A Radeon 7850 is a great gamer . Prices starting about $160

Use a 2 x2 gig kit of RAM for better performance

OK, two sticks of ram will offer better performance as your bandwidth is doubled, as compared to a single stick of RAM. In other words, 2 X 4GB is faster than 1 X 8GB of RAM.

You really want to upgrade to the HD7750 for a couple of reasons. First, it's much better for gaming. Second, it uses a little less electricity, which means you can spend less on a power supply.

For a power supply, you can have good or cheap. Pick one.

For the HD7750, an Antec EA-380D would be great.

For your original video card, Antec VP 450 would be cheaper, but lower quality. Or upgrade to EA-430D.

To me, it would make the most sense to spend a little more on the video card so you can spend a little less on the power supply and still get great quality...

Don't use a green drive as a system drive. Get a 7200RPM drive like the WD Blue or Black series or the Seagate Barracuda series. The Green is a 5400RPM drive and will not give you a good experience with Windows installed on it. Lots of pauses while information is read.
