Gaming Build. Will I need to update bios to use AMD FX-6300 CPU?

Building a gaming PC for my brother and wasn't sure if the AMD FX-6300 CPU would work with the ASUS M5A97 LE R2.0 AM3+ Motherboard, both right out of the box... or will I have to put in an AM3 CPU to update the bios before being able to run with the FX-6300? I know I have read of problems as such before but, not sure if they've since changed so that AM3+ motherboards now ship being able to support the FX series CPU.

Also, thoughts on this build? Total w/ S&H and tax is exactly $820 before rebate (at the time I originally put this together).
