Getting past the local on the wireless system

Hello,
My new cable Internet will not allow my second laptop to connect past local to get on the Internet. We've been able to connect our wii system my iPad and all our I phones why is the second laptop being so difficult? I've gone into the comp system and deleted our old wireless system but it will not fully connect

more info needed....it connects local? im assuming u are on windows, it shows any exclamation mark? or it just not connect to the router?
