New i5 Build for OC and games and Media hub?

Approximate Purchase Date: As soon as I comit to the parts I want after taking all of your advice into consideration, and I do very much appreciate any help and advice you may give as its been 6-7 years since I have built a machine.

Budget Range:$1000-$1700

System Usage from Most to Least Important: gaming, surfing the internet,burning pictures, watching movies, maybe recording tv

Do you need to buy OS: Yes Win7 maybe Win8

Preferred Website(s) for Parts:newegg.com , I used PCpartpicker.com to put it all together so the ones they recomend.

Location: Cape Cod Mass USA

Parts Preferences:whatever gets me the best bang for the buck.

Overclocking: Yes

SLI or Crossfire:No put maybe later on when the card I am buying drops down in price

Your Monitor Resolution: I am using a Sony Bravia 40" 3D LED TV as my monitor

Additional Comments: Will use the pc mostly for MMO's and first person shooters. Also used for backing up pictures from digital cameras. May try to get a cable card tuner and make my PC the media hub for my house.

And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: my last build is about 6-7 years old with a Q6600 and I am getting divorced and I am getting me something she wouldnt let me:)

Drop to 8GB of RAM, which is enough to play BF3, run Photoshop, and store 50 tabs in chrome all at once - you don't need 16GB.

As for power, the build you've outlined only needs a 550w power supply, or 750w if you plan on adding a second 670 in the future.

Other than that... you have an extremely solid build.
