Can't get into BIOS on a new build

So I decided to do my first build and got everything plugged in and booted up fine.

However, I get to the Asus screen (Asus mobo) and on the bottom of the screen, it says to press F2 or DEL to get to the BIOS screen. When I click on either one, nothing happens and just stays on this screen. Am I doing something wrong?

I checked all the connectors and CPU/case fans work.

I am using a USB keyboard connected to a USB 2.0 port on the mobo. One thing, I use the number lock light on the keyboard to see that it is powering on. It is lit, but then after a few minutes, the light goes out. However, I tried hitting F2/DEL when it is lit and still nothing.

Any help is appreciated!

Thanks!

Yeah, the keyboard receiving power isn't always an indicator of clear back and forth communication between the input device and the computer itself.

When I first ran through this process with my GIGABYTE mobo, it would not accept input from a USB powered keyboard, but it did work with my PS/2 format keyboard. Perhaps you should try with a PS/2 ported keyboard.
