start with your mb and the video slot that it has. some are pci/some are agp. the next is the size of the power supply in your pc.
look at the wattage on the 12v rails and amps. you cant install a high end gpu on a low wattage power supply.
look at the cpu you have in your system. the older it is it going to bottleneck some of these newer cards.
it the fps your looking for and the games you want to play. some gaming cards are better $$$ then others.
amd 7800/7700.

for gaming purpose,my budget is around 2k-3k (35$-55$),i have AMD FX(tm)-4100 quad core,asus motherboard,hav no problm with power supply,its well more thn enough...pls tel me now

Raise to your budget to 5k atleast otherwise at 3k you have to run all games to low settings.get atleast hd 6670 ddr5.but for 1080p gaming you need hd 7850 which costs 15000rs.

what is this TFLPOS in graphics card? how it is related to it? how can we need to buy a graphics card with respect to TFLOPS?

I wouldn't look at it as a determining factor for buying a graphics card. Its teraFLOPS. It's a term that is normally used with computing power so I would say unless you are looking into that I would look towards other things when looking for a card.

When looking for gpu always see benchmarks not specs.

Well yea benchmarks are a more in depth look at cards in general. If you look at a card on the basis of looking things to look at would be memory, memory bandwidth, core clock, and graphic card ports but yea when in doubt benchmarks for games/applications.

yup,but in some graphics cards lyk ATI they use the word TFLOPS 2 specify particular card....so??!!!!!

firepro cards are workstation cards that do direct computing they deal with cad/and rendering/editing for professional working individuals. And if I remember correctly Nvidia Quadro is really taking them to town.

some games demand 4GB CPU RAM,bt computer says only 3.85GB is usable in 4GB RAM,wat to do ?

4gb is a good entry level currently. Remember that's 4GB ram for the OS and the games and don't worry it's enough but you might have to mind how many programs you have open at one time is all.

It enough.it is showing you 3.85gb as 128mb vram is taken by your onboard graphics.

You still have 4 gigabytes of memory but because of your onboard video you have some of it taken away. However, with that being said when you get a graphics card that onboard memory that is being taken from your system memory you get back.
