Hello,

I'm looking to build my first PC. I'll be mostly be using it for Cinema 4D, Photoshop and After Effects. Won't be gaming as much but it would be nice to play recent games.
Please include an IPS monitor.

A 3770k and a z77 mobo will be enough (my overclocked results are about the same as the 3930k to 4.6ghz however i'm 230mhz faster in clock but for maybe only 2-5% slower and 200+$ i suggest you the 3770k for 320$ and a good z77 mobo for 150-200 ovr the 200+ X79 ones...) You'll never realise in real world the difference between both platforms...

I also recommend AMD video card or older NVIDIA 5xx series for rendering (a single 560 is faster than my 680 and i had 2 560 in my old system...)

PS: from 40000 (1 560) to 60000 ppd (560 SLI) in F@H to 32000 with the 680 so for video rendering without gaming 560 are faster than the flagship NVIDIA cards...

PS: PPD is point per day ^^

You can prove this?

Any tests to prove this?

It is true that 6xx series isnt great for rendering, Computing etc(Cant verify these numbers though). Nvidia Removed Compute Functionality for Power Efficiency. Get AMD, it Depends on you. If op wants both Physx, 3D, CUDA, Etc go nVidia. Otherwise AMD is better for $/perf.
