Hello all,

My 1st post here! After many months of lurking this site for information, I finally decided to join.

So here goes my first post -

I currently run a whitebox build running ESXi 5.1 and it runs great on my current Hware.

My spec -

Gigabyte PH67-DS3-B3 Motherboard
Intel Core i5 2500 CPU
16GB Corsair XMS3 Memory

Now, I can't pass through hardware to VM's due to no Intel VT-d support on the motherboard, so I would like to upgrade the motherboard without destroying my ESXi set up. Can I simply swap the board and carry on or am I likely to run into problems? I am looking at another Gigabyte Board which will be very similar.

If anyone has any advice it would be very much appreciated.

TIA :)

Hi vGeek!

Hardware is detected and initialized on each boot so you should not have an issue.

Just be sure to backup before doing any changes.

Excellent. I'll give it a try.

Thanks.
