What is this connection? And do I need it?

Putting all the parts together in my case and saw this connection, can anyone tell me what this is for and if I need it? If I need it where does it connect to?

That is an extender/fan connector. You can hook a fan directly to your power supply if thats where it is connected. You dont really need it, only if you're actually going to use a fan with it
