I would like to get recommendations on building an AMD system that falls in the 600 dollar price
I would be doing some video rendering, editing, gaming. This gaming would consist of Minecraft, Battlefield BC2, and Bioshock, and more importantly Crysis 2/3.
Would like to get good frame rates on these games. Any comments would be great.

Or if you want an amd card : http://pcpartpicker.com/p/Is4D

Use a motherboard with a 970 series chipset .
This ASUS is $75

9XX chip sets give you the best set of options and a guarantee of future compatibility for at least one more generation of processors

Other than that the only other questionable copmponent of djangos build is the case . The gamma is cheap . Too cheap . If you have a little more room in the budget then a
HAF 912
Antec ONE gamer
Corsair 200r
CM 431/430 are all much better cases for about $15 more

Actually the case is a good one, i would take it over the cm 430 or 431, the nzxt classic is a good case, not some crappy one, like those apevia, diablotek, etc brands.
You can see here for a review : http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/NZXT-Gamma-Case-Review/855/6
For the price i recommend it in the past, without counting rebates, it's one of the cheapest and good value cases out there.
Of course there're better out there, but i was trying to keep about 600$ without rebates, still goes a bit over since the motherboard and hdd got more expensive.
The gigabyte motherboard is actually a good one for a budget motherboard, it can support any FX cpu(and really support the 125W cpus, unlike other many matx budget am3+ motherboards, and supports the FX-6300 without problems) : http://www.gigabyte.com/support-downloads/cpu-support-popup.aspx?pid=4305
It's a decent one as you can see here(it's now in the 4.1 revision) : http://www.overclock.net/t/946407/amd-motherboards-vrm-info-database
And without an aftermarket cooler, that motherboard will suit him(still it's decent even for overclocking see overclock.net for more).
Of course, if the op has more to spend it will be better, to have a 970/990FX chipset motherboard, a Corsair 200R/300R or Fractal Design R4, a FX-8320, an aftermarket cooler, a 7870XT or 660 ti...
