Video Card

Hello,
I currently have a Dell CN-02XTG4-32881, ATI Radeon HD 5870 video card that I need to replace. Are there any recommendations for a replacement, would like to upgrade if possible and the computer will support it. I have a Dell Stuio XPS 435t/9000 computer.

  3. Anything above GTX 660 or Radeon 7870 would be a nice addition of performance. So your budget should be the only thing that is in the way. :)

I have the option to buy a used ATI Radeon HD 5870 for $160.00 but would like to upgrade. Do any of the recommended cards have dual DVI outputs as the 5870? I would like to spend a little more and get something better. Is the GTX cards better than the Radeon cards, I read different reviews and get different results?

They're pretty similar when it comes to performance a difference of 5%. GTX 660 is cheaper though and comes with the technologies that Nvidia offer. Both should have dual DVI output.

Thank you for your help, is there a brand/vendor that is better than others, GeForce, XFX for the 5870?
  7. Thank you for the info, here is the card I ordered:

    EVGA GeForce GTX 670 FTW+ 4GB w/Backplate Item #:04G-P4-3673-KR
  8. Even a Radeon 7950 is worth considering and it will be a decent upgrade over the 5870.
