Hi, so im new to building computers, but i have read up alot on compatible parts and builds. I will be using the machine for lan parties, and graphic intensive games. This is a beginning of a computer, and i plan to upgrade over time, as my budget isnt that large.

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/IsFF

i'd appreciate any advice on cheaper, but similar parts, and possibly better setups. Thxs

Solution
Also no need for aftermarket thermal paste, the one that comes with the the heatsink is pretty much the same thing.

No need for blue ray drive, just get a regular drive or use usb for the drivers

no need for 16GB of ram.

You should try to get the best GPU as you can get for games really, overpaying on so much things for a $1500 computer

i did not put a burner because it doesn't look that great on the case, just use a old burner for your lan drives or usb.

here is a bit of a bigger build

Thanks for the build boul box. I just got a few questions.
Now CPU wise I can understand why you'd go with the 3570k with its ability to over clock. Motherboard wise also as its basically the same board. What I'm not sure of is the storage. The reason I picked a single ssd was that I have a separate computer for videos and music and my gaming computers never tend to pass 150gbs of data anyway. So I figured that if I ever needed more space I could upgrade with a second ssd and a raid 0 card. Would that work for a performAnce computer?
In regards to the video card, I was floating back and forth between this card and the Gtx 670. I had read thAt games that utilize physx don't play we'll with a radeon card. So I was Attempting to err on the side of caution. Is this not as true as I thought?
I also agree About the psu, because I wasn't certain on how high I should aim for. I'm curious as to how you picked 850 watts? Pcpartpicker kept telling around the 450 watt range, but I wasn't certain as I might be upgrading to a crossfire/sli configuration, which would really up my power needs.
again I thank you for the info

Edited: damn phone autocorrected some words

If you do not use a lot of space, then you can go with the 2**GB SSD if you would so like to.

I put an 850W in case you wanted to CFX in the future.

Games that have Physx tend to have a lot of action inside(Borderlands 2, Batman) and you will rarely get to appreciate that you got that 670 for that Physx because there are so much things going on that your mind would be focusing somewhere else.

I like the 7970 more because it OCs like a beast and tends to be a stronger card than the 670 for just a bit more. Of course there are Pros and Cons of going with either card so i am not going to say go with the 7970 just because its a bit better than the 670.

PS: going down the 670 path, you can lower the PSU down to the 750W or 650W for SLI config
