Hey, I'm interested in possibly upgrading my old PC. Looking for some assistance in what parts to switch out and all that,

Some info on the computer itself here:

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01316405&tmp_task=prodinfoCategory&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&product=3655697

*The graphics card was replaced with a radeon HD 4350 a while back*

APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE: After ive organised parts, etc..

BUDGET RANGE: Sort of low budget, probably under $200. But it's fine if it goes a bit over.

USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: Needs to be able to run DayZ, things like Garry's Mod, and I wouldn't mind if it could even run some games like Crysis 3, Bf3, etc..

CURRENT GPU AND POWER SUPPLY: RADEON HD 4350, 300W power supply

OTHER RELEVANT SYSTEM SPECS:

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E4500
Motherboard: IPIBL-LB (Benicia)
RAM: 2GB DDR2
HDD: 320GB 7200RPM hard drive

PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS: http://www.pccasegear.com - This is one of the only Australian sites I know for parts, I'm australian so if you can find better websites for parts that'd be amazing. :D

PARTS PREFERENCES: I sort of prefer nVidia over AMD, had a bit of trouble with AMD in the past. :p

OVERCLOCKING: No

MONITOR RESOLUTION: 1920x1080

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: Nothing really. :p

That's going to run up a lot more than $200!

You could go with a 7850 and a new power supply, but then you wouldn't have any cash left over for the other two parts (three actually cause you'd need new RAM) and your system would be REALLY bottlenecked by the processor. If you had more like $450 you could have a killer system which would run stuff like BF 3 really well at 1080p, unfortunately that's not the case.

The parts I suggest should be just a bit over $200, you won't be able to run stuff on crazy high settings, but it should be passable, esp. given your current setup.

CPU: Pentium G2020 http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=187_346_1184&products_id=22494 $59

Motherboard: Gigabyte B75: http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=138_1183&products_id=21138 $62. You can also lose USB 3.0 and SATA 3 (not really required) and get a H61 motherboard for $55.

Graphics: Sapphire 7770: http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=193_1343&products_id=22476 $109

Power Supply: Corsair VS 450: http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=15_535&products_id=22020 $49

Memory: Corsair 4 GB: http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=186_538_913&products_id=13237 $32

So yeah, seems I've gone a bit over, more towards the $300 mark really :(. Prices down under suck.

You could also just get the power supply I recommended and a 7850. I would have thought that an E4500 would really start to struggle at 1080p though.

Shame about the budget really, it's kinda a choice between two evils (over spending, or ending up with a system that potentially hasn't really scaled very well due to a CPU bottleneck).
