One or the other?

Hello.

I'm looking to put together a computer and I have a choice between two cards.

EVGA 1GB GDDR5 GTS 450

or

EVGA 1GB GDDR5 GTX 650

What are the pros and cons of both?
Which delivers better performence?

Strictly for Gaming.
Don't care about multitasking, editing, rendering, etc.

Both are the same price.

GTX 650 has a better GPU chipset, and will perform better. i would also recommend considering the 650ti if it doesnt bust your budget.

The 650 gives you better support for DX11. I would also suggest the 650Ti the 650 is not a great value in terms of a graphic card. You will get quite a bit more out of the Ti the 650 on its own would be good for a home theater build with very okay settings within games you can turn settings up a little more with the Ti. The main con I would say of both cards is that they are poor gaming cards.

do you have any links to those? the GTS450 is quite an old card while the GTX 650 is much newer. without really chasing it up, I'd say the GTX 650 is better, by a noticable margin. but like bigshootr8 said, they're not really gaming cards.

GTS 450 is like a GTX 550ti. The GTX has crap AA because of the ultra skinny bus width.

Eh it's already installed with the machine I'm gonna buy.

It's either an FX 4100 w/ GTX 650

or a

Phenom II x4 965 BE w/ GTS 450

Having trouble deciding.

Gosh I don't know they are very close the 965 and the 4100. I look at a benchmark with a 4300 and the a 965 and they are fairly close. The better card is the 650. So I would go with the first option.
