Hello,

I am looking for the best gpu available under 60.
I am on a tight budget, but looking for gpus with nice performance under 60 bucks.
One that can play games at playable fps on medium and such.

I already know that GT 610 is able to handle battlefield 3 and crysis 2 on medium - high.

So far I've found GT 610 620. and couple other.

Whoops, yea I am switching from a broken laptop 545m to a desktop.

Solution
Well, i can tell you from first hand experience that a core 2 duo 2.66 and a 6770 ($100 card at the time) runs bf3 on low across the board at 1080 like crap. It was so obnoxious that i stopped playing til i got this setup.

A faster quad cpu might have helped some. If you play at a lower res that will help too.

Again, only u will know if it's good enough for you.

Long story short - you are going to be a sad man if you get a $60 gpu to game. You need at least 7770 to play on high with bf3. Thats $120 of gpu. Gaming is all about the gpu, not the cpu. And a 610m/620m can olny play bf3 at all at a very low res. A gpu for $60? I say 6570 or 630. But they suck at gaming.

610, 620, and 630 are ALL under $100. Plays crysis 2 on default to gamer, bf on medium to high.

So I was just wondering if I were able to get maybe an older, cheaper but offers higher performance.

Yea apologies, I gave a misinformatio by saying "m" it's not mobile, it's for desktop.
GT 630 gets 50fps average BF 3 medium.

Those GPU will get really poor and choppy performance on ugly settings with no AA/AF and on low Resolution. Save you cash for a decent entry level GPU. I consider nothing less than a 7770 or Radeon 6850 as entry level to enjoy gaming on the PC.

I agree you may want to look on EBAY or the classified on toms and see if you can find a card within your range that is a little older because the lower tiered 2nd number cards

610, 620, 630, 640, even the non ti 650 are all bad value cards for high performance gaming.

GT 430 is a good choice, and is much better than the 610 by a wide margin

I have had this card before and it handles borderlands 2, Skyrim, Crysis warhead, and MW3 at a steady 60fps and never drops below 30 at a res of 1280 x 720

Well, according to this : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qKrQZSQySMY

GT 630 can run BF3 on ultra and smoothly playable.
People also noted that it runs Skyrim on High.

Also able to play Ghost Recon Future Solider on medium 1080p with 25-40 fps is quite impressive : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gOsHIup7f10
I've seen lot of cards getting major low fps playing this game.

630 is around $20 more than GT 610, not a major difference.

I don't see why everyone is saying it's bad, lot of places I look most say that it can play latest modern games on medium to high and that is really good for it's price.

Not a chance in the world; there is no way in blue hell that a 630 can run BF3 on ultra and playable settings.

It is bad. Playable settings are 30 Frames per second 60 frames per second are optimal in a game especially a shooter. You would be lucky to get medium/high play ability with a 630.

$60 is going to get you nowhere for gaming im sorry man... Youre going to need to shell out at least 120 bottlecaps for a 7770 if you want a cheap but decent card.

Also, you already know that a GT 610 can play BF3 and C2 on medium-high settings? Um, hell no. They won't even be able to handle the game on low...

I agree a 7770 would be a start. The 2nd number of a video card is very telling. When you see numbers below 6 with nvidia you normally will see cards that aren't very geared for gaming and the same thing for AMD normally numbers below 7 are cards that won't provide you really any value in terms of pc gaming. Cards that will get you somewhere on the pc will cost you in the ballpark of 150-200 dollars its just how things are.

Just think of it like this, in our free time a lot of us look at benchmarks of different graphics cards, planning our next build. All of us can tell you that a low end gpu just isn't all that good for gaming. The highest gpu you can get for $60 is a 6670. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102988
I would recommend at the least a 7770. Here is the cheapest one - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202011
For only $40 bucks for then the others after rebate, it packs a punch.

Yea..i'm not sure who's convinced you about super low budget gpu's...but the one you listed simply don't do what you think they do. The gt 610, 620, 630 just won't cut it for even medium settings on bf3.

Something I did just think of was...what resolution will you be playing on? If you're only playing on something like 1366x768...then I think a gt 630 could pull off medium (30 fps) for bf3.

But if you're playing on a resolution thats any higher, you really will have to spring for a more costly gpu. There's just no other way around it. And yes, you can go try to buy a second-hand gpu off of craigslist or ebay.

If a GT 630 can play BF3 on ultra, then my HD 6770 can play Metro 2033 ultra on 3 monitors...

I was able to play BF3 medium on my laptop with 550m but due to my fan heating up to 90 Celsius, because of dust getting inside my fans, after 5 min when it heats, fps drops significantly.
Then days ago my Screen cracked, so I am just thinking of buying a desktop instead, or I can pay $70 and replace the screen and clean up the fans.

For those of you who are saying BF3 can't even run on GT 610, then are all these real gameplays all fake? : http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=battlefield+3+gt+610&oq=battlefield+3+gt+610&gs_l=youtube-reduced.3..0l3.939373.948267.0.948516.30.15.5.10.11.0.104.1208.14j1.15.0...0.0...1ac.1.q2ESc6j2XvU

I see people playing multiplayer on medium just fine. I am sure they are not all lying.

I have just found this Radeon HD 6750 for $60 - 80 range, and it seems to be better than GT 630. Runs BF3 medium on 50+, and seen people maxing it out with ~32 fps.

Playing BF3 on ultra with a HD 6750? Sure, what resolution will you play in? 800 x 600? Medium seems to be more reasonable.

Yes that's not my saying, that's from lot of actual gameplay videos.

Check them out here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZadTTrFYcm0
Getting 40 fps, medium 1360x768

This guy is on 1024x768 with high - ultra with not so great ram and cpu:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oe0qkntO0AI
Fps with recording: 30-40
Fps without recording: 40-60
Fps average : 45

and this guy... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mN6tH32VjAQ
Ultra settings
1280x1024 resolution
Game is running great WITH 24 to 26 Fraps

there are more .. just a simple youtube search.

Anyways, GT 630 and 6750 are both able to handle crysis 2 and BF on medium settings (and higher according to owners with these cards), and that's just enough for me not a heavy gamer.
