New Graphics Card

Hello there, yesterday it was my birthday and I am deciding to use the money I got to upgrade the parts on my computer. I had bought prior to this in the summer a Gateway DX4870-UB21P:

I am looking at graphics cards because my computer is currently without one. I currently have Intel 2320 (90% sure its a sandy bridge) with integrated graphics and looking to upgrade my computer. I am aware I will also have to upgrade my power supply and also get a new fan as well. I am hoping someone could assist me in finding a graphics card compatible with the computer I have. I am looking for a graphics card around $180 but above $150.

I was wondering if you can check if these products are compatible with my current.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

  1. Yes, that power supply will be compatible with your graphics card and is enough to power up your entire system.

HD7850 is a great card. However, if you could find a somewhat similarly price 2GB version, I would suggest you get that. Otherwise, 1GB will still be enough
  2. The power supply is good but I would go for an HIS IceQ 7850 it has a much better cooler and will run faster, similar to a 7870. This should all work out you have a PCI x16 slot and you should have enough power with the 550W psu the only concern I have is space. Make sure there is space for the psu and the gpu.
btw here is the link for my recommended gpu

  3. My case is relatively small and was thinking about switching to this card:

An HD7850 is significantly better than a GTX650ti
  5. Well what is the measurement from the backplate to the edge of the storage bays
  6. I would agree with that EZ I would look at it from this perspective. I would look at the 650Ti is a stronger card then the 7770.

    GTX660 goes against the 7850
GTX660Ti goes against the 7870/ and in some cases the 7950
    GTX670 goes against the 7950/7970
    GTX680 goes against the 7970/7970ghz
