How much difference in performance do you generally see with the lower cas latency ram? Is it worth the extra bucks to go with the lower latency ram? I dont do any overclocking and not really into benchmarking, just want my system to run games well.

I ain't got time to bleed!

If you can spare the extra few bucks, it's often worth it.

The actual difference is between one half to one, 0.5-1, clock cycles depending on the type you are buying. (SDR & DDR) It really isn't that noticable. It is better quality RAM because it has to be able to handle the faster demand on it. Overall it is generaly better to spend the extra few dollars.
