hi guys, ive given advice here before but now im stuck for a desision of my own.
my old 9600gt 512 is starting to show its age. i installed stalker clear sky complete and had to turn down some settings from maximum which i didnt like. i kept it on max but turned down the rez to 1024. and i read the requirements for the new bioshock. the minimum is 8800gt/9600gt
so ive narrowed down the feild within my budget.

Of course this doesn't mean for everyone, but for me the 7770 isn't that great. It was very nice when it worked, i had the Sapphire-Vapor-x OC 1 GB 7770 Edition version bought it in October 2012. A few days ago it got faulty, under 6 months of use. Could just be bad luck for me, but I've now had 2 AMD Cards and both have went faulty, after only 6 months or so. And Sapphire are supposed to be one of the best brands for AMD cards, so i am now wanting a Nvidia card, as my brother has had an Nvidia card for over a year and his hasn't gone wrong at all and his is just as good as my 7770. Because of my experience i advise to go for the Nvidia options.

thats rough oliver

i read a post on here the other day a guy got a bad evga 650. had to rma.

msi gets alot of bad 7770's too...newegg is rife with complaints.

the thing is to i dont want the hassle of cleaning out drivers.

what do you think of overclocking a gtx650?

My PNY GTX650 is running well with an O/C core at 1228 and memory at 2817. Runs Assassins Creed 3 no probs 60FPS +- graphics look as good as tv video !! Took it up to 1280 and it crashed though. That was using EVGA Precision X. But got same results using MSI. Good luck.

At futureshop:

ASUS GeForce GTX 650 1GB DDR5 PCI-E Video Card (GTX650-E-1GD5) 1 $123.99

The e- version needs no separate pwr connection .... comes all from the mbrd (like the 7750). Generally benchmarks put it above the 7750 but below the 7770. One site had it near par with the 7770 when overclocked.

Since I just "upgraded" to win8 and my ATI 4850 is somewhat flaky I've ordered the 650-e .... I'm also confident the NVidia will give me an easier install into win8 ( since catalyst was not installing for me). We shall see.

My son has the 7770 .... it looks and plays really good!
