Although the average FPS drops with the new driver, there is less fluctuation in the time between each frame rendered, thus removing the micro-stuttering. Be warned that it's a BETA driver. I'm installing it myself to see if Black Mesa would stop micro-stuttering on my N61Jq laptop (i7 720qm, Radeon HD 5730 mobility).
