Well, mainly to watch TV in HDTV format. I have digital cable, but I don't have a TV in my own room. So I figure, why get another TV when I could just watch it on my computer. I would like to be able to record on demand though, kinda like pausing live TV if you know what I mean. But I may just get a seperate card. But that's only if I cannot find and LCD with a tuner, because then I wouldn't have to buy one and would have a free PCI slot.
if i well understand you want to watch tv (in hdtv format) on your integrated tv-tuner LCD monitor and at the same time you want to pick up the dvi signal by your comp. (or maybe directly pick up the dvi signal from your LCD integrated tv-tuner).
im not really sure if this is what you want to do but anyway i believe that you haven't DVI output on LCD monitors nor DVI input on cheap video cards (just DVI output).
if you know you don't know, the way could be more easy.
Well, let's just say I want to watch TV on DVI. Most LCD's I have looked at only have integrated tuners with analog only, though I am not sure why. Samsung's 171MP is HDTV ready as it has its own TV Tuner built into the LCD, but it only has analog. So I am trying to find something similar to Samsung's 171MP but with DVI.
