I have old simm memory kicking about, does anybody know a way to ID how much memory are on the simm just with what is written on the chip ???

Not really, but if you know the manufacturer, you can usually find the size of the individual chips on their site. I've done this before, on Nanya's site, I dunno about other manufacturers.

Give us some of the markings on the module and on the chips themselves. The more info we have the better the diagnosis and prognosis we can give.
