I've been using a old macbook for years now and an upgrade has been long overdue, not to mention I miss PC :kaola:

I travel by plane so I need something I can take as carry on luggage so I went with the X51 but cancelled that order when I found the Bitfenix Prodigy (I'm impulsive.) It seems to hit that sweet spot of power and portability and being able to upgrade is nice.

It'll be my machine for pretty much everything; gaming, music editing, movies..music and all that other typical stuff.

Here's the build;

(I'll also be throwing in a SSD later on when I can afford a good sized one.)

What do you think?

One thing I'm not to sure about is cooling. If not those fans, any recommendations? Keeping in mind with air travel, water cooling is out of the question and also I'm not to sure if I plan on overclocking or not..

Any tips on cable management would be greatly appreciated too, I'm a noobie when it comes to building. :whistle:

All looks good to me, I'd get a slightly better PSU for such a high end build though.

There's a good one

The 3 extra fans are probably overkill but if you don't mind the extra noise, there's no harm in it really.

Also might be worth getting the SSD then adding the HDD. That would save you having to re-install your OS. OEM copies are a bit hit and miss with reinstalling.

I think I decided to go with a similar build but in a fractal node 403, with a FPS Aurum Gold 600W psu.. Case is a bit slimmer and seems pretty straight forward.

I guess it would be quite a hassle with the OS, I'll probably bite the bullet and get the SSD. Thanks for the reply!
