Approximate Purchase Date: e.g.: Next few weeks.

Budget Range: £600 - £1200.

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming.

Are you buying a monitor: No, I already have an Asus ve276q.

Parts to Upgrade: Everything its a new build.

Do you need to buy OS: Yes, i'm still running xp.

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Anywhere is fine, my budget is a bit flexible.

Location: England, Leicestershire.

Parts Preferences: I kinda have my heart set on an intel i5 cpu (not sure about model) and I haven't found a case I like more than the Haf X - full tower gaming case. Apart from those parts I don't mind.

Overclocking: No... Maybe just the cpu.

SLI or Crossfire: No.

Your Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080.

Additional Comments: I would like to be able to play the new Starcraft 2 expansion on ultra.

And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: I built my current pc about 6 years ago and it still plays every game on the market on low settings. I am hoping my new pc will play everything currently out on ultra and last for a good 4-5 years and still be able to play stuff on low. I have picked out some parts already, any comments or suggestions would be appreciated. I like to keep things as simple as possible which means a single HDD and I'm not paying insane prices for a big SSD.

A good gaming PC, with plenty of power.
I doubt there will be a game in five years time that it will not play.

If you however want a future proof and upgradable PC and expect good performance even 5 years into the future, then take a look at this.

Thanks for the reply, I really like your first build except for the SSD (which I think is a waste of money when trying to build a pc with bang for your buck) and the case. The 2nd build is not for me, I definitely do not want the 2x 7950 gfx cards as the 7xxx series from AMD suffer quite badly from micro stuttering.
