That's just 228w on the 12v rail, and it's probably not a high quality psu. What is your cpu and motherboard? I have my doubts that it will work.

oh thanks... my cpu is a hp compaq dx7400, core2duo processor with 2ghz and it has 2gb of ram.. motherboard is msi oab8..
u think it might work?

The gt630 should work...the core 2 duo takes up 65W, the card 65W, the ram probably 10W, the motherboard probably 40W. That is 180W used up with 120W left over for keyboard + mouse + any connected USB devices. As for the AMD cards, I don't know.

Not the most power hungry cpu so it might work, but it is a risk. A cheap psu with years on it's back won't be able to handle much. You'd be cutting it close. Something like a 5570 should be safer. The 6570, 6670 and 630(really a rebranded 440) all pull about as much power as they can from the pci-e slot, the 5570 pulls a little less.
I am by no means guaranteeing that the 5570 will work mind you. On an old dell optiplex gx620 that I had, the standard 300w power supply could not handle it. However, your cpu is more power efficient than it's was.

Do you have a gpu installed in it now, or are you running off integrated graphics?
