ReplayTV 5000 won't boot

I was watching a recorded show when it froze. I eventually unplugged
it and plugged it back in. It displays the starting up message, but
gets no further. I left it unplugged overnight (that sometimes helped
with my 2020). No Change. The hard drive seems ok; I put it in a
firewire drive case. It tries to mount, but my Mac can't read the file
system. What should I do next?
