The Sims 2 Install Problems

I just got a new computer and am trying to install the Sims 2. It
looks like it is going, but then when I insert disc 2, if sounds like
it's runing, but then seems to freeze. I do Ctrl+Alt+Delete and it
says it's running. I am logged in as the computer administrator. I
haven't had any problems reinstalling all my other software. We have
the Sims 2, Sims University and the Sims Nightlife. We didn't have any
problems installing it on our old computer.

Any suggestions???

Good idea. That's why I always recommend installing in Safe Mode. ;-)

HELP!
when i install the sims 2 it gets up to 13% and says TSData/Res/Sims3D/Sims13.production or something and it say do you want to retry or cancel the instalation. i click on retry and every 5 or so numbers the retry thing pops up. i keep clicking on it until it gets to 100%. Every 10 or so minute the retry thing pops up. i eventually just have to cancel it. is there a problem with my computer? i've installed it on this computer before and the first time it installed fine. now it keeps stuffing up! reply soon! im getting desperate to play the Sims!!!!


btw my computer monitor is an IBM, WIndows XP and a Dell screen

I'm haveing the exact same problem as you! But mine only loads 9% and then cracks it. I tried loading the sims onto a different computer that i hadn't loaded the sims 2 onto before and it worked fine. I would play it on that computer but it is old and very VERY slow when trying to play the sims. Does anyone know how to fix it? I feel like reloading my whole computer right now, nothing is working well anymore.
