Battlefield 2 joystick roll is backwards

I'm trying the BF2 demo.

On both of my joysticks, when I set the value for the roll left & right
they are reversed in the game (i.e. moving the stick right banks the
aircraft left).

Is this only a problem with the demo? Is the retail version OK?

Is there a way to manually fix it in the configuration files?
