3570k @ 4.2ghz Bottle-necking 7950?

Okay, so i noticed after playing skyrim (vanilla) that MSI afterburner reports my GPU usage at 60-75% so is my CPU (3570k @ 4.2 ghz) Bottle-necking my 7950 at stock settings (core 800 mghz, memory 1250mghz)? Picture: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/81605106/TESV_2013_01_22_21_07_33_863.jpg

  1. No, lol. Do you have on vsync? If so, the game's frame rate is probably being limited to 60fps. That would be why you are seeing low percentages. Skyrim should be a walk in the park for your gpu.
  2. I highly doubt that a i5 3570K @ 4.2 GHz can bottleneck an HD 7950. It's probably that you have V-Sync on.
  3. V-sync is turned off manually through preferences.ini in my documents that's why i am scratching my head as to why the hell i would have this problem. Also as you can see on the MSI afterburner on the top left of my screen on the photo i am running above 60 fps, meaning, V-sync is off.

You are perfectly fine.skyrim game is more cpu dependent that gpu that is why gpu usage is less.
