GPU upgrade

Currently I'm enjoying the following rig:
AMD Phenom II X4 945 @ 3Ghz with an MSI 790 GX-G65 MoBo, 4GB of DDR3 RAM, Asus GeForce GTX 275 with 896Mb DDR3 and the power comes from a Cooler Master RS-460-PCAP-A3.
I want to upgrade the GPU and I was thinking on a Sapphire HD7870 OC. The budget is roughly 250-270$.
I would like to know if there will be any compatibility or bottlenecking issues with the current specs and the new GPU.
Any suggestions are welcome.

  1. That's about the best GPU you can get without having your processor bottleneck it - go for it.

Two things though: make sure it has 2 or 3GB of GDDR 5 VRAM, and don't get the GHz edition, just get the normal one and overclock it yourself. Saves you money and gets roughly the same performance.
