Hi im in quick need of help i am choosing between either a 7870 or a 660(non-ti) anyways i need a quick reply of which and a reason for it i can get a 7870 for £160 and a 660 for the same (ebay shops FTW).

Heres the rest of my system:
Intel Pentium e5800 DC 3.2ghz (really fast tbh)
Gigabyte gt 430 (runs most games (bf3) on medium)
asus p5g41t-m lx2 mobo ive checked and it has a x16 slot

Thanks, Jake

i have evga 660 ftw (factory occlocked), see my signature for some info. for 1080 its great tough in FC3 i have to disable MSAA to get fps over 40 on ultra

aha its fine i knew what you meant and i think i may go for a gigabyte gtx 660 2gb just because i currently have a gigabyte card and like how cool it stays even when playing very intense games but im not sure there is a evga one but that has 1 fan and look like it could get really hot

Im with ashish65, you may want to look at a cpu motehrboard upgrade before a new videocard,So that way when you get the money to upgrade your card you wont have to worry about bottlenecks.

If you don't have the budget, you don't have the budget. Going half way, still doesn't get you there. It's like asking what the cheapest way to get from LA to NY and then saying, well you can get to Chicago for $150. Sometimes (often?) the only sensible upgrade is no upgrade.

i have q9550 @ 3.4 GHz and i kind of see bottleneck in BF3 multiplayer, but i get like 47 avg fps so its like 35-60 and i can live with that. if Crysis 3 is like BF3 then i should be ok

anyway core2duo lacks 2 cores, so 660 only if you switch to core2quad, tough these cpus still cost a lot. i bought mine localy for 130eur and saw another q9550 for 150eur
