Nic or Onboard Lan..

Any opinion as to which is prefered, and why ?
should I add a sperate card in, or will onboard be just as good?

Onboard Lan is fine. My company have been using onboard NIC for most of the computer. They work fine.

I have onboard and have disabled it and used a pci one on the same board .. no difference in performance so I went with freeing up the pci slot option and back to onboard
