Hi guys:

I have the xfx hd 7950 double d at 900mghz.

I tried setting the core clock to 1000 mhz, without changing anything else, and after about 20-25 minutes of gameplay in bf3 maxed out it just crashed.

my spec

cpu i5 3570
psu corsair gs700w
gpu: xfx hd 7950 double d
ram 16gb

I don't understand, I thought people say that the hd 7950 is a good card, why did it crash at a mere 100 mhz oc?

The max temp was 83, but the thing is when i played far cry 3 at stock 900mhz, it has gotten to 84 before, so i don't think it is the temperature issue, it is just not stable.

As he has said.

You could always try bumping up the voltage in tiny increments (make sure to adjust fan speed accordingly), but you could still just have a unlucky card. Thirdly the stock clock is 860Mhz the XFX Double D card is stock OC'd.

^ Ya I just realized that, when i OC game crash my tv monitor (i have at tv) audio would say that the audio has been disconnected cuz it has both audio + display. also I would have an error message, but then when I have my "usual" bf3 game crash at stock clock it has no error message, also given i have no game crash problem with other games, i think it is bf3 not my gpu.
