What virus will keep you from formating or fdisking a HD? If I configure it as a slave , I can see and open the files and aps. But won't boot and won't fdisk or format? What IS this thing? And PLEASE, how do I get rid of it. EZ Anti-Virus didn't see it.

Make a bootdisk with a copy of debug on it, then execute debug and enter the following commands followed by enter after each command.

F200 L200 0
A 100
MOV AX,301
MOV BX,200
MOV CX,1
MOV DX,0080
INT 13
INT 3
THEN PRESS ENTER WITH OUT TYPING ANYTHING
-D 100 LF
PRESS ENTER AGAIN
G=100
Q

That should clear both the boot record and wipe the partition table, you should be able to restart and then Fdisk/Format.

Hope that helps

zenroth, thanks. Tried the debug code. It took, but didn't work. Both SCSI drives have this thing. I had an unplugged IDE drive I hook up once a week to mirror and that saved my ass.
FDISK read drive 1 = 96 megs
drive 2 = 17532 megs
fdisk says there is no partition. Can't fdisk or format.
Tried IBM's Disk Manager and ZAP, neither worked. What IS this thing and do you have another suggestion?
