I have a 2 1/2 year old Dell and I'm planning on building a new computer. To save some money I was wondering if I could use my newtork card, sound card and modem from my Dell system? OS will be 98se until I can buy XP.

New System (as of now):
Abit KR7A-133R
AMD XP 1700
Toshiba DVD
Cosair 256mb pc2400ddr ram

Old pieces:
3Com 10/100 network card
SB Live audio card
Win modem (?)

Any ideas?

Thanks, Chris G.

As long as all your add-on cards are PCI you should be able to use them. I would jot down all of the numbers on those cards and make sure you have all the drivers. If you don't have the proper drivers, download them now as to avoid trouble when you put the new PC together. Also, why not use the 1.44 out of the Dell? I've got Dell carcasses all over the house from people that wanted to upgrade.

I can't think of a good signature so I'll use this one.
