I want to run 8 42" plasmas

Hello,
I am looking to run 8 42" plasmas for a video - would two Radeon 6870s work on their own or would I need to have a crossfire motherboard too?

Well, as far as I know you can run 8 monitors from 2 cards provided you have the hook ups. WHen you're talking screen sizes of 8x42 you're better off getting a projector and crossfiring the cards. You shouldn't need to crossfire to get them all to run, but I think you're gonna run into the first 4 being cloned. With the crossfire you'd get one big screen. Don't quote me on any of that, never done one that big. Like I said, at that point, projector. Then no worries about if it'll work. Maybe green screen it and add it in digitally later.

No crossfire, no eyefinity, just two 6870 capable of driving 6 monitors each.
Then you need to connect them with: 1xHDMI, 1xDVI and 2xMiniDP to single link DVI using an active adapter.
