If the timer starts counting, then that suggests that the unit is
reading the MP3s off of the CD correctly. Perhaps it's an output issue.
Does the DCM-280 have more than the standard stereo RCA outputs in the
back? Maybe the MP3 output is being sent to another digital output, and
it should be configured to send MP3 output to the RCAs.
Well, I figured it out. The CD player is connected to my receiver
through a digital audio connection. I aalso have the RCA jacks hooked
up to a Niles whole house audio receiver.
As it turns out, the MP3 sound is not broadcast through the digital
output, but it is over the RCA jacks! I was able to hear the songs in
my house speakers.
Does anyone have an idea as to why this may be?
Thanks.
