I would like to switch the output from my computer's soundcard to be
able to play music through the PC speakers at my desk or through my
Home Theater receiver (using a minijack to RCA adapter). I could just
plug one or the other in whenever I need it, but I would like to have
a switch box. Nothing on Radio Shack's site seems to be what I need.
Are there any online stores with hard to find parts like this?

How about just a wye adapter and use the volume control on your pc speaker
to cut the audio when you use the home theatre

There are many switch boxes with RCA connectors at RS/Tandy, or any other
electronics store. Simply use minijack to RCA leads where necessary.

Just use the stereo audio jacks on one of the commonly-available
stereo/video boxes, and let the video jacks sit idle.
These boxes select inputs or route outputs equally well.
