I am currently using a Olevia HDTV as my display. It's native resolution is 1360x768, I was thinking of buying a 40inch 1080p hdtv to replace it. Any suggestions? The colors are kind of crap because its not a name brand tv like samsung or sony. Would I see a huge difference in image sharpness bumping up to 1080p from what I currently have now? I used my PC primarily for gaming and watching movies.

My specs for my PC are

Processor: i5 2500k
Memory : 8gb
Video card : EVGA 560 ti w/ 2gb memory

Thanks in advance

I highly suggest you keep that TV as a TV and for watching movies on, and buy a monitor - a smaller monitor running at 1080p is going to look even better than a large one. (But yes, there will be a HUGE difference - I went from 900p to 1080p, and even that is extremely noticeable.)

That being said, a 560ti isn't going to be maxxing out games at 1080p, though I don't know if it could do that for you at 780p, either.

Using a TV screen as PC monitor can demage your eye site and will not allow you to play more coz of irritation. This is why people watch TV from a approximate distance.

Buy a nice 1080p IPS display about 30"

not as big as 40" it'll be too much
