Hello,
my laptop is an asus and it says that its graphics card is an ati mobility radeon hd 5470 series but whenever i play a game it says its only a 5000 series. am i not getting full potential out of my graphics card?

i don't use a laptop so i am not certain, but it saying as a 5000 series is correct. all model with 5xxx belongs to the 5000 series. to be sure, install the latest driver.

No, I have a HD 6750m and it says AMD 6600/6700 series. Its just a bit easier for the programmer to put in a whole series rather than all of the cards. Besides, there is no point in identifying the specific gfx card for game programming as many cards share the same arch.
