Hey All,

New to this forum so I will try to be as detailed as possible with my question. I have an old 2008 Dell XPS 420. I am looking to pump out some better graphics while playing Guild Wars 2. Below are the specs of the computer:

XPS 420 - Intel® Core2 Q6700 Quad-Core (8MB L2 cache,2.66Hz,1066FSB)

3GB Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 800MHz - 4 DIMMs

512MB Nvidia GeForce 8800 GT

320GB - 7200RPM, SATA 3.0Gb/s, 16MB Cache

I was reading past threads about this same computer, and someone recommend a 7770. I just want to double check that this would be a good purchase, or if there is something a little more powerful that I can get. Not really trying to upgrade the power supply too, but if upgrading both the power supply and graphics card will give me immensely better graphics, I might consider it.

Cheers! Thanks for your responses.

hey there new tom's member
as you said above i would suggest going with a 7770 as it requires one 6 pin power and 8800 gt does to so the power supply can take it...thats the cheapest upgrade...if you want better graphics you will have to get a better power supply
