System ..

XP
HD 80gigs

I used partition magic 7.0 to make two partitions. One partion for DOS and one partition for XP.

Windows XP is now lost and can only boot up to C-prompt with DOS directory.
Rescue disk shows C partition 3 gigs out of 80 with DOS being in that directory. The remaining hard drive is un-allocated.

I believe my entire Harddisk was formatted instead of the 3 gig partition. Can i bring back my XP due to important files stored on XP?
If yes, please post intructions/details on how to retrieve my files.

Thankyou for your time !

All of your info might still be there. If you can get a hold of Norton Disk Doctor (ndd.exe), it will automatically find and restore lost partitions. Partition Magic doesn't really delete partitions, just quick formats. You MUST get the dos version of NDD.EXE, not Windows. Before running, make sure you have a BLANK FORMATTED disk to save the UNDO info on. Let me know if you need NDD.EXE (wink wink nudge nudge)
