I'm building a new system and I'd like it to be able to output in 3D (my TV is a 1080p, Active 3D set). Will a Radeon 7850 be able to do this?

And if it can, is there any bottlenecking in these specs?

-Phenom II X4 965
-Radeon 7850 2GB
-8GB DDR3 1600 (2 x 4GB)

Thanks for the help!

It will work, but for gaming, it may be on the weak side, though what I'm about to say may make that a moot point.

The drawback is going to be that either you game at 720p@60hz, or 1080p@24hz.

What's the cheapest CPU/GPU combo that will allow me to play games in 1080p Active 3d smoothly?

You can't with that TV. It just won't allow it. With any TV for that matter.

Will it look bad at 24 Hz?

Would you rather play a game at 720p @ 60Hz, or 1080p @ 24 Hz?

3D TV's do not offer 3D at 1080p@60. They just don't exist yet as far as I'm aware.

It takes Dual Link DVI-D, Displayport 1.2 or HDMI 1.4b. None of which are used on TV's.

However, AMD supports HD3D, which should work with pretty much any 3D TV that supports HDMI 1.4a (make sure it supports 1.4a). You are just limited to 720p or 24hz.
