Could a DVD-ROM have decreased performance if there was a ZIP drive as a slave on the same channel.

If you used both at the same time, certainly.

I find it difficult to watch a film and prattle with file movement at the same time, so I wouldn't suffer from this.

Only one device from a particular channel can be accessed at a time.

I think it could be a problem, since Zip drives are not DMA compatable to the best of my knowlege, and I don't think a controller can do both DAM and PIO modes at the same time!

What's the frequency, Kenneth?

I had the same thought and then I e-mailed Iomega and they said that the Zip should have no problems in DMA mode. I tried enabling DMA on the Zip and it works. Whaddaya know.
