Alright so I was trying to play Arctic Combat (fps) on 1920x1080 earlier and I was experiencing a lot of fps lag. The gameplay wasn't smooth at all. The graphics settings in game are all set to low but I still get major fps lag at that resolution.

My specs are
Core i7 2630 2.0 ghz
8GB DDR2
GTX 460M 1.5 GB Dedicated
Windows 7
Screen resolution 1920x1080

I have checked and my drivers are all updated to the latest version. I know that my specs are decent and this game is not like crysis, farcry etc and my system should be able to handle it at 1920x1080 on low settings. I shutdown most of the other non useful programs when I play the game.

I have also tried it at 1600x900 and that worked pretty well, still some fps lag every now and then. 1280x720 seems the only (16:9) resolution where I don't get any fps lag.

Any pointers that could help me solve my problem would be very much appreciated.

The higher the resolution, the more VRAM required and it also means the GPU needs a more horse power.

Your GPU will start to stutter at a 1920x1080 resolution simply because it's lacking the power to draw in the resolution.

Your GPU is a little too slow to run that resolution, there's almost nothing you can do about it except run at lower resolutions.

Hi - as warhead pointed out, your only option for better
performance at 1920x1080 is to upgrade your gpu,
and given the card you have, upgrading is prob
going to be $200 or so for noticeable improvement.
