Hi,
i have a computer with:

AMD Athlon II X4 645 Propus 3.1GHz Socket AM3 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor M3A770DE
windows 7 home premium 64bit
ASRock M3A770DE Motherboard
ePOWER EP-600NE-XV 600W ATX12V v2.2 / ESP12V v2.92 Power Supply

i removed:
ati radeon 5770 and ddr3 1600 sdram 204 pin

just upgraded to:
HIS IceQ H787Q2G2M Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card
G.SKILL Ares Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory Model F3-1333C9D-16GAO

I am getting no video output. The card fan is running, no mb error beeps. I have the graphics card plugged into PCI Express 2.0 x16 Slot (PCIE2; Green), and the ram into 2 x 240-pin DDR3 DIMM Slots 26 (Dual Channel B: DDR3_A2, DDR3_B2; White).

the power is plugged in with 2 6 pin connectors.

i tried the dvi and hdmi outputs and get no display at all.

any idea what the issue is? I have tried reseating the card and ram 3 different times and cut the computer on and off 5 times. everything worked fine with the old hardware.

Did you check for ram compatibility list as my system refuse to post with 4 sticks of Hyperx but boot no problem with 4 stick of G.Skill now... revert to your old ram to see if that works, if yes change your ram model, if not, your new gpu could be DOA and you should try it in a friend computer to see if that card at least pass the boot process on another rig...

Link to the QVL for your motherboard: http://www.asrock.com/mb/memory/M3A770DE.pdf

Have you tried new graphics card with old memory?
I think your board may not support 8GB modules.

so according to that it could support a max of 4x2gb ddr3 1600 sdram?
I thought according to installation guide it could handle any amount only the os could create limitations?

i will try the old ram this evening

No. Asrock website says "Max. capacity of system memory: 16GB". So I guess it's 4x4GB and that's why 8GB modules don't work (aprat from the fact that they are not mentioned on QVL).

going with Crucial Ballistix Sport 16GB (4 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Low Profile Desktop Memory Model BLS4K4G3D1609ES2LX0

hopefully this works
