I am unable to hear Dolby Digital signals with the following components:

- DVD-ROM Pioneer 116
- Sound Audigy Premium (not EX)
- Speakers Inspire 5.1 5700
- Graphics ATI Radeon 8500
- CPU AMD XP 1800
- Windows XP

I have tried numerous setup combinations with the Dolby Digital and AC3 selections in the Audigy setup dialogs, along with corresponding Digital DIN and Analog inputs in the Inspire speakers.

Right now I have the Audigy connecetd to the Inspire speakers using the digital DIN connector and front/rear analog lines. I have cleared the AC3 decoder in Audigy and have enabled Digital Output Only.

Any suggestions? I have also installed the latest Audigy drivers from Creative.

And people wonder why I recommend against Creative Labs cards.
