I installed XP on a just-built computer. For some reason it set up my hard drive (only one HD) letter as F:

Anyway to change this? I even tried reinstalling XP, but it never asked me what drive letter I wanted.

DVD\CD-ROM is d:
cd-rw is e:

Do you have more than 1 partition on the hdd? Or during setup did you chose another location other than C:. You can change drive letters by going into control panel and click on Administrative Tools, Computer Mgmt.,Disk Mgmt. On lower portion of window where disk 0 is located, right click and select change drive letter or path. It will issue a warning and you'll have to make your decision at that point whether or not to change. I've done this on my cdroms and zips, and 2nd hdd, logical drives, etc.. But my install went to default folder. If you change the drive letter, i'm not sure what will happen if your window files actually are in the C:\windows file. Hope all goes well for you if you make change.JW
